I've now watched Equestria girls. Spoilers ahead, if you care.
I did it. Watched it. Now I can have a real opinion based off having watched it.
I did not enjoy watching it.
I watched it while making a list of things I liked about it, and things I didn't. I was being forcibly fair. The score was 10 good to 29 bad, although some bads are just weird things that make no sense if you think about them at all.
On the positive side, there was some funny bits, and Spike continues to be the best character of all time. And it doesn't look... TOO bad visually.

meh. C:\Program Files\ is for system wide stuff. HKEY_USER reg entries could be used for small things, but the registry is awful. I'm much happier for people t use %APP_DATA% to store user-specific stuff. Too bad no one gets this right.
The worst offenders are linux ports where they stick stuff in %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH% instead of %APPDATA%. Just because linux uses ~/.foo doesn't mean windows programs should be using that same scheme.
